Once again, Eric saw a vision of Godric whose plea for giving Russell peace and forgiveness he chose to ignore. That’s 100 years for Russell to be tortured by Talbot’s death, Eric said 100 years for Russell to think about how he’d kill Bill and Eric, the King countered. Bill said it would be at least 100 years before he went anywhere. So instead, he was going to bury him alive, wrapped in silver, encased in cement. Godric’s little speech had gotten to Eric - he couldn’t live with the idea that Russell would find peace in death. Alcide dropped the boys off at a construction site and drove away. We switched back to Operation Bury Russell. With her dad and Felton gone, her kin would need someone to take care of them, and it had to be Jason, the only outside person who knew what they were (and the extent of their dental problems). Jason told Crystal to change into a panther and run away when Felton shot him, but Crystal said she had to go with Felton. Jason tried to tell Felton that no one was going to stop him from taking the V with him, but Felton wasn’t leaving without Crystal.

Jason was incredibly composed in this scene, considering that Felton could have shot him at any second. Felton shot one man, then put a bullet in Crystal’s dad’s head when he called Felton a pussy for getting high on V. Felton, Crystal’s intended, appeared as her father barked out the orders to toss the V and hide the meth equipment deep in the woods. That was the saddest looking group of extras I’ve seen in a while - save the man in the gray camo T-shirt who clearly had highlights in his wavy hair. Jason and Crystal arrived at Hot Shot and explained to her father that the DEA was coming and they had to get rid of the V like now. Is that a reminder that they’ll never be able to be a happy little family? Or a hint at something more: Hoyt’s mother had referred to him as her first and only born, maybe it symbolized that her child was now dead to her, or that his mother will try to shoot Jessica and her son will take the bullet. As he picked Jessica up and held her in his arms in the light, the camera pulled back into the next room and focused on a discarded baby doll laying on the floor in the dark. Hoyt later put down a security deposit on a rundown place for he and Jessica to fix up together. She’d told Hoyt there’d be consequences if he stayed with the ”redheaded dead girl” he’d told her she couldn’t be in his life if she didn’t accept his love for Jessica. That girl is misguided, but not enough to go buy a vampire-killing rifle, which is the last thing we saw Hoyt’s heavily-eye shadowed mother do. Hoyt is such a good guy - he wished Summer well and the best husband in the whole world that wasn’t him. While Jason and Crystal headed there to warn her werekin, we caught up with Hoyt, who arrived at work to find his mother and Summer sitting on lawn chairs in the woods, waiting to stage an intervention with the help of the high school guidance counselor. Meanwhile, the DEA arrived in town to raid Hot Shot, and Andy let it slip to Jason that it was going down that day. How many hours did it take for Denis O’Hare to get in that makeup on his face, his heavage, and his hands? (Did you notice the way he wiggled his fingers when he told Sookie she was like a rose that only blooms for a little while? A nice touch of pervy.) He couldn’t believe Bill had shown so much restraint: he was either a true gentleman, or a very, very smart man who realized that by controlling himself he made the experience last longer, like tantric sex. Russell told a non-trusting Sookie that a vampire would one day tear her apart to get at the essence of her. That’s when Sookie disposed of Talbot - after Russell interrupted her reading Star magazine on Eric’s throne to try to negotiate his freedom with $5 million, his Mississippi house, and the promise to kill both Bill and Eric, one of them, or neither of them, her pick. Eric asked Sookie to watch over Russell while he, Bill, and Pam slept. But Russell said it was all he’d ever think about. The other fang dropped as Sookie tightened the chains: ”Don’t even think about it, bitch,” she said. He coughed out one of his fangs - ”humiliating,” Eric said. It wasn’t so much gruesome as it was… flaky. It was hard to take your eyes off of Russell’s charred face. They thought he was insane, but a reluctant Sookie dragged Russell inside with a silver chain around his neck.

Back at Fangtasia, Eric recovered and told the others Godric had appeared to him and asked him to save Russell.
